Rich, poor or beautiful... European countries as seen by Google

What is your country like? By the magic of Google's "autocompletion" technology, whereby a result proposition is automatically associated to your search, you can now know which adjective defines your country the most - although maybe not the best.

An American computer scientist, Randy Olson, did an experiment, writing "Why is [country name] so..." in Google search engine, writes French daily Les Echos. The results proposed by the autocompletion system have been mapped to give a rather particular view of European countries...

  1. I've just searched Google for "why is Italy so ...". Italy is dirty, beautiful, racist, corrupt, popular, expensive, great, poor, special, good, in that order. :)
